| |NOVEMBER 20235VOL 3 · ISSUE 10 -1 · NOVEMBER 2023The Aviation business in India is booming. A few months ago, Indian carrier IndiGo made a record order for 500 Airbus A320 aircraft the second-largest single purchase agreement by any airline in commercial aviation history. Air India had made a record-breaking deal with Boeing and Airbus months before this, buying 540 planes from them to grow its business in India and abroad. The order of short- and long-haul planes is worth about $82 billion at the list price, but such large orders usually get discounts and incentives. In January last year, when Tata Group took control of Air India after winning the bid for Rs. 18,000 crore, everyone hoped for a transformation in the Indian commercial aviation industry. The hopes were never in vain as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was tasked with improving Air India with technology and cost savings. The result was amazing, and the air travelers are starting to experience it. According to top aviation experts, the mega-deal is expected to create over 2,00,000 jobs in India, directly and indirectly. However, the industry can't take its eye off the focus on safety and experience. Today's global aviation industry is supposed to be as safe as or safer than road trips. It goes without saying that the aviation industry stakeholders in every country need to check, double check, and ensure that their safety & customer experience approach is uncompromised. In this issue, we feature some industry leaders who are ambassadors of a safety-first approach and innovations in the segment.Do let us know your thoughts.Sujith Vasudevan,Managing Editor sujith@cioinsiderindia.comOffice Editorial queries editor@cioinsiderindia.comAdvertising Queriessales@cioinsiderindia.comBangaloreTel 080 46441103 To subscribeVisit www.cioinsiderindia.com/subscribe/ or send email to: subscription@cioinsiderindia.comMagazine price is Rs 150 per issuePrabhu Dutta A.R.N RayGM - Sales & MarketingShashi RanjanManager DesignMagendran PerumalCirculation ManagerEditorial TeamHima P MKeertana KantharajRoopalathaTejaswini P Nischita Prakash NaikCIOInsiderNo. 124, 2nd Floor, Surya Chambers, Old Airport Road, Murugheshpalya, Bangalore-560017Souvik AcharyaDebjani M.
