| |July 20215VOL 4 · ISSUE 05 - 01 · JULY 02, 2021People migrating to work from home settings was an almost overnight phenomenon all over the world. Well, as far as the IT industry is concerned, the situation turned into a dual-edged sword pretty quickly. While the exponential growth of the cloud industry and IT industry at large became a silver lining to the pandemic, the cyber attackers unleashed themselves to this opportunity, and the consequences were catastrophic. McAfee (rest in peace, John McAfee), the American global computer security software giant, even keeps a dedicated Covid-19 threats dashboard. According to the data by McAfee, around 762187 threats were detected in India alone between May second, 2021 and April 18, 2021.The global situation is no different. The FBI recently reported that the number of complaints they receive pertaining to cyberattacks to their Cyber Division is up to as many as 4,000 a day. That represents a whopping 400 percent increase from what they were seeing pre-coronavirus. It's no rocket science that, regardless of the size of your business, there is always the sword of Damocles hanging over. It is imperative that you build a safer atmosphere around your business by securing the services of cybersecurity specialists. As the phishing or social engineering attacks, ransomware and DDoS attacks (the recent DDoS attack on AWS had fired 2.3Tbps) are continuing to pose bigger threats for businesses, the cybersecurity solutions providers need to aggressively watch the dynamic trends in the segment in order to stay ahead of the threats. From Extended Detection and Response (XDR) to Security Process Automation, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and Cyber Insurance, the solutions providers have a number of trends that drives the market and they will have to localize these options and delve deep into the organizations in order to build effective cybersecurity solutions. This issue is an endeavor to shed light on the post pandemic cybersecurity situation.
