| |APRIL 20254As we approach the fine-tuning phase of Generative AI, the completion between large language models (LLM) is intensifying. On the other hand, Apple and Samsung are locking horns with their latest Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially Generative AI features. Apple Intelligence is finally here and is quickly catching up with its competitors in the segment, such as Samsung. Users with a compatible iPhone can now use Apple Intelligence tools, including Clean Up, which recently took the internet by storm. Reviews already suggest that Samsung's Object Eraser is better at removing objects from faces and hands, while Apple's Clean Up tool attends to deleted areas more naturally. This is not impressive, considering GenAI's purpose and capabilities. Going forward, other competitive smartphone companies are also racking up their arsenal, especially in markets like India. For instance, Nothing, the smartphone company co-founded by Carl Pei (the co-founder of the Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus), has appointed its co-founder Akis Evangelidis as India President. Akis will lead the company's next phase of growth in India. His elevation comes just before a week of the Phone 3a series global launch (on March 4). Nothing is looking to double down on its investments in India and expand its retail presence to over 12,000 stores in 2025. As the competition starts to gain momentum, we have come up with a yearly special issue shedding light on smartphones of the GenAI era.
