According to reports, Walmart Inc, Amazon.com, and fast-growing e-commerce sites Shein and PDD Holding's Temu saw record-breaking sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

During the deal-heavy week, which started on November 21, holiday shoppers mostly perused physical stores, but some also made more purchases online.

They bought things like pre-owned Rolex watches, Pokemon cards, and singer Sabrina Carpenter's perfumes at Walmart, and Fire TV streaming devices and Shark vacuums at Amazon.

According to Adobe, Americans spent over $10.8 billion online on Black Friday this year, up 10.2 percent from the previous year. They then spent $13.3 billion on Cyber Monday, which was 7.3 percent more than Cyber Monday in 2023.

According to data firm Facteus, which tracks online and in-store spending in the US by analyzing data from banks, credit unions, payment processors, and fintech companies.

Amazon saw the strongest growth among major retailers on Black Friday, with sales up 6 percent from Black Friday a year earlier. Its numbers are not adjusted for inflation.

Low-cost Chinese competitors Temu and Shein were among the best performers on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, with a double-digit percentage rise in sales, despite having a smaller sales base

While big-box retailer Target and consumer electronics retailer Best Buy saw decreases from the previous year, rival Walmart saw a 3 percent increase in spending.

Low-cost Chinese competitors Temu and Shein were among the best performers on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, with a double-digit percentage rise in sales, despite having a smaller sales base.

Similarly, compared to Cyber Monday 2023, sales on Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving, increased for Amazon, Walmart, Temu, and privately held Shein, while Best Buy's sales decreased from the previous year. Target experienced a little rise.

Between November 25 and December 2, Walmart had its best single sales day ever thanks to four times as many discounts on its Walmart.com marketplace as it did on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
