Arm to Open Second Branch in Bengaluru

According to reports, British semiconductor Technology Company Arm is expected to open a second office in Bengaluru.
Peter Stephens, director of government relations, Arm says, “In Bangalore, we have about 2,000 people and we’re just acquiring a new building to grow and make that even bigger and better.”
“If you have in your hand a smartphone, then I’m pretty sure that it will have a little bit of Cambridge and a little bit of Bangalore in it somewhere because the architecture that’s on it will have been designed and verified in those two cities,” adds Peter.
The company's headquarters are in Cambridge, UK. Peter also chairs the UK-India Tech Forum, a joint initiative of industry bodies Nasscom and techUK.
The forum’s role is to bridge the two ecosystems and develop a 'highway of influence' to support and provide a platform for industries to engage with each other and with the governments.
Since its founding in 1990, SoftBank-owned Arm has shipped more than 300 billion chips based on its designs. Arm technology is the foundation of practically every smartphone in the world.
