Bharti Airtel Partners with Blinkit to Deliver SIM Cards in 10 Minutes

According to reports, Bharti Airtel and Blinkit announced a partnership to deliver SIM cards to customers’ doorstep in just 10 minutes. The service, which is a first-of-its-kind by a telecom major, is live in 16 cities as of now and more will be added in the future.

Customers can avail the SIM card with a minimum payment of just Rs 49 and the number can be activated through a simple Aadhaar-based KYC authentication process, according to reports.

“Blinkit takes care of the delivery, while Airtel makes it easy for customers to complete self-KYC, activate their SIM, and choose between prepaid or postpaid plans. Customers can also opt for number portability, all at their convenience,” says Albinder Dhindsa, founder and CEO of Blinkit.

The shares of Airtel rose 2.26 percent on BSE to Rs 1,797.10 at 12:53 pm, while Eternal Ltd, the parent firm of Blinkit, was trading at Rs 222.80, higher by 2.63 percent.

The tie up will provide the SIM delivery service in 16 major cities, including Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

As per reports, customers can choose from both postpaid and prepaid plans or trigger an MNP for porting into the Airtel network. To streamline the process, customers can access the online link and view the activation video for a seamless activation experience.
