Disney+Hotstar and JioCinema Launch New Streaming Service JioHotstar

Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema have joined hands to launch JioHotstar, a new streaming service today.

Two of the most well-known streaming services in India have merged, combining their technology, sports coverage, and content libraries to provide a greater selection of entertainment.

According to Kiran Mani, JioStar's CEO of Digital, the platform is made to let customers enjoy its content without requiring an instant membership.

JioHotstar has unveiled a brand-new subscription plan. There will be no changes to the current plans for Disney+ Hotstar subscribers. Mobile plans cost Rs 149, Super plans cost Rs 299, and Premium (Ad-Free) plans cost Rs 349 for a three-month period.

For the balance of their subscription, JioCinema Premium subscribers will be upgraded to JioHotstar Premium.

Kevin Vaz, CEO - Entertainment at JioStar, confirmed that "our pricing remains familiar—for example, Rs 149 for mobile subscriptions for a quarter and Rs 499 a quarter for the ad-free experience."

Hollywood movies and television shows from NBCUniversal Peacock, Warner Bros., Discovery, HBO, and Paramount will be among the many types of material available on the new platform.

JioHotstar is now the first platform in India to offer content from multiple global studios in one location. The platform will stream international athletic events like the Premier League, Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi, and ISL in addition to entertainment content, including major cricket tournaments like the IPL, WPL, and ICC events.

A number of cutting-edge features have been added by JioHotstar to enhance the viewing experience. These consist of multi-angle viewing, real-time stat overlays, AI-powered insights, 4K streaming, and special interest feeds. Additionally, the platform launched "Sparks," a campaign to support leading digital content producers in India.
