Global Hyperloop Competition 2025 Celebrates Developments in Futuristic Transportation

IIT Madras held Asia's first Global Hyperloop Competition 2025 celebrating significant developments in futuristic transportation. The competition ended successfully. In his virtual attendance at the concluding ceremony, Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics, and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the government's dedication to promoting innovation through cooperation between Indian Railways and academic institutions.

Speaking from Rail Bhawan, IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti greeted attendees and outlined the competition's goals during the event. The Railway Minister reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of advancing the country via collaborations with educational institutions and technical developments in his speech.

The tournament honored exceptional teams with important accolades like the Best Demonstration Team Award, Demonstration of Braking & Traction System, and Best in Sub-System (Mechanical). Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw praised these young innovators, saying that their accomplishments demonstrate India's superior scientific and engineering capabilities and will hasten the nation's transition to next-generation transportation.

He emphasized India's technological advancements, pointing out that IIT Madras was crucial to the country's 5G deployment, which was the quickest in the world. Indian Railways and IIT Madras will now work together on a Vertical Take-Off & Landing (VTOL) Vehicle project, which is supported by Indian Railways, continuing this tradition. The goal of this project is to promote contemporary developments in transport and mobility.

Satish Kumar, the chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, was among the dignitaries in attendance.
