Prior to this year’s chaotic Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, the Haryana government halted SMS services and mobile internet in Nuh district for twenty-four hours.

Last year, it was observed that a mob set cars on fire and pelted stones at bystanders that killed two home securities and injured 15 others along with police officers during a Vishva Hindu Parishad parade in Haryana's Nuh district on July 31.

To ensure the same does not repeat again, the Nuh Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata stated that the district has increased security to maintain peace.

"Situation is very peaceful, cordial ahead of the Yatra and both communities (Hindus and Muslims) are ready to welcome it," Khadgata said.

He says that there are numerous welcoming gates and food stands put up for the march participants.

"We also have 100 volunteers who will help police with the coordination of the movement along the yatra route," the DC said.

Last year, it was observed that a mob set cars on fire and pelted stones at bystanders that killed two home securities and injured 15 others along with police officers during a Vishva Hindu Parishad parade in Haryana's Nuh district on July 31.

The authorities issued a note on the usage of drones along the yatra's path, which is expected to commence from the Nalhar temple in Nuh and terminate at the Jhir temple in Singar.

Anurag Rastogi, the additional chief secretary for home affairs for Haryana, issued an order suspending internet service in the district from 6 p.m. on Sunday to 6 p.m. on Monday.

"... there is an apprehension of causing tension, annoyance, agitation, damage of public and private property and disturbance of public peace and tranquility in the district Nuh..," read the order that came at the feedback of Additional DGP-CID, Haryana and a Deputy Commissioner.

The suspension came "to stop the spread of misinformation and rumours" through social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

In the immediate aftermath of the interfaith conflict, at least six people—including a cleric who was attacked in a Gurugram mosque—were killed and numerous more were injured.

The opposition parties had sharply criticized the BJP government in the state, which was then headed by Manohar Khattar, for the violence.
