HCL's Founder Shiv Nadar Moves on
Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL Technologies will now take on the role of Chairman of Emeritus and Strategic Advisor to the company's board.
With effect from the closing of business hours on July 19, Nadar, the company's Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Director, is said to have produced his resignation as MD and Director.
Being a pioneer of India's computing and IT industries, Nadar stepped down as Chairman in July of last year, and his daughter, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, took over. Roshni was the first Indian woman to lead a publicly traded IT company.
He formed the HCL Group in 1976, which began as a technology hardware company, producing the country's first indigenous computers, and has since evolved into a more complete worldwide software services organization.
HCL helped India's telecom revolution by partnering with Nokia to create the world's largest mobile distribution network.
He founded the Shiv Nadar Foundation, a nonprofit organization, in 1994. The Shiv Nadar Foundation had spent over $ 988 million in transformational education institutions that are cultivating India's future generation of leaders as of March 2021.
The talks of the present are saying that, to continue to benefit from Shri Shiv Nadar's vast knowledge, experience, and wisdom in an advisory role, the Board of Directors approved Shri Shiv Nadar's appointment as 'Chairman Emeritus and Strategic Advisor to the Board' for a term of five years, effective July 20, 2021, after considering the recommendations of the Nomination & Remuneration Committee.

The shareholders must approve the payment of remuneration or the provision of any facilities in this function.
Also, C Vijayakumar, the business's President and CEO, has been named Managing Director with the titles of CEO and MD for a period of five years, beginning July 20, the company announced.
