In India, HP Inc. has launched a program for refurbished laptops that offers pre-owned yet affordable PCs for both enterprises and retail customers through HP-certified partners who will offer after-sales assistance.
According to the company, the initiative, which has been introduced for the Indian market, will be extended to other markets in 2024.
The plan's immediate target market segments would include students, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.
The device will be sourced from businesses and retail customers by HP's certified partner, who will restore it in accordance with HP's standards.
Following refurbishing, the partner will sell and offer thorough after-sales assistance, including a warranty.
The refurbishment program is now offered through subscription for lengths of 6, 12, or 24 months. However, HP has now expanded this approach to provide reconditioned PCs on a transactional basis, providing customers the choice.
By 2030, HP wants to achieve 75 percent circularity for its products and packaging; the program for used items serves as evidence of this.
The refurbishment effort is a result of HP's earlier trial projects, like the internal redeployment of close to 20,000 devices annually.
Every HP-certified refurbished device, the business continued, goes through a rigorous refurbishing process that includes memory upgrades and storage expansions that are customized to fit each customer's tastes and needs.
In order to assure optimal performance and dependability, the devices undergo rigorous testing and inspection.
