India's Smartphone Exports to the US Increased by $3.53 Billion

Export of India’s smartphone to the US surged by $ 3.53 billion in April through December during this fiscal year from $ 998 million in the same time last year, according to the commerce ministry’s data.
The data indicates that market share of smartphones went from two percent during the same time last year to 7.76 percent between April-December thanks to growing outbound shipments.
The growth of exports now positions India as the third-largest exporter of smartphones to the US.
During April to December, the US smartphone imports dropped by $ 45.1 billion from $49.1 billion in FY’23 from the top five vendors.
At the same time, China is said to have exported $35.1 billion worth of smartphones to the U market, representing a decline from $ 38.26 million last year.
Vietnam’s phone shipments dropped to $ 5.47 billion from $ 9.36 billion from April to December 2023 compared to the same time last year. Hong Kong and South Korea are said to be the main exporters of smartphones to the US.
Hong Kong's sales from April to December 2022–2023 decreased to $112 million from $132 million, while South Korea's exports to the US rose to $858 million from $432 million during the study period.

India is becoming a significant hub for smartphone production following the introduction of the Product Linked Incentives (PLI) scheme and the US-based iPhone manufacturer Apple's entry into local manufacturing.
