To combat digital reliance and promote responsible technology use, the Karnataka government has started a program. Through organized interventions, the Digital Detox Initiative (DDI) – Beyond Screens initiative aims to lessen digital addiction.

The initiative's short-, medium-, and long-term goals will provide organized solutions. According to the IT-BT department, it will include digital detox programs in traditional healthcare and offer prompt assistance to individuals with digital addiction.

The initiative, which was created in collaboration between the Karnataka government and the All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) and is supported by Kahamind Healthcare, aims to increase awareness of the problem and develop evidence-based solutions at both individual and community levels.

AIGF chief executive Roland Landers said the industry’s role is important in fostering responsible digital engagement

IT-BT minister Priyank Kharge emphasized the goals of the initiative to ensure the well-being of citizens. “As a firm believer of balance in our digital lives, I always say, ‘sunlight before screen light. This initiative will address the often ignored challenges of digital addiction.”
