Gaming platform Kratos Studios launches the Kratos Games Network program, which will use 50 million rupees to help game studios port their games to the blockchain platform.

The Bengaluru-based company, founded by Manish Agarwal, former CEO of gaming and media giant Nazara Technologies, is using the grant to get studios to connect their games to the Kratos blockchain, allowing players to win prizes.

Kratos wants to work with adult games that have more than 500,000 daily active users (DAU) and are profitable. It plans to work with around 10-15 studios by March 2024. The grant will initially provide liquidity equivalent to Kratos cash prizes, and then the revenue from the game will be used to fund the prizes.

The company raised 160 million rupees ($20 million) in a funding round led by Accel, with investors including Prosus Ventures, Courtside Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners and Nazara Technologies

Agarwal says, “We are looking to build a community of gaming studios and players who will use our platform. The program would be open to studios from across the world but expects about a third of the participating studios to be from India. In August, Kratos Studios expanded operations into Brazil.”

In February, the company raised 160 million rupees ($20 million) in a funding round led by Accel, with investors including Prosus Ventures, Courtside Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners and Nazara Technologies.

The platform's early success in India led to its global expansion. In the last six months, the company has reportedly paid five crores to 1, 50,000 players. Top players earned an average of Rs. 40,000 per month. Game developers and publishers fully fund this revenue.
