Micron Technology Launches Business Unit to Leverage the Transformative Growth Propelled by AI

Micron Technology, Inc., a pioneer in cutting-edge memory and storage solutions, revealed a reorganization of its business units based on market segments to leverage the transformative growth propelled by AI, spanning from data centers to edge devices.

Micron has sustained several generations of leadership in the DRAM and NAND sectors and currently holds the most robust competitive stance in its history. Micron’s top-tier product range, along with exceptional manufacturing execution, allows for the creation of unique solutions for its clients across various end markets.

As the demand for high-performance memory and storage grows to propel AI advancement, this Business Unit restructuring will enable Micron to remain at the cutting edge of innovation across all market segments by fostering closer customer relations to meet the industry's evolving requirements.

Micron will start moving to this new business structure right away. The changeover will be finalized at the start of the corporation’s fiscal fourth quarter, commencing on May 30, 2025. Micron will announce financial outcomes based on the new business framework beginning in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025. The four divisions of the business will be:

Cloud Memory Business Unit (CMBU): Concentrating on memory solutions tailored for major hyperscale cloud clients, along with high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for all data center clientele. Raj Narasimhan, Senior Vice President and General Manager, who has managed the Compute and Networking Business Unit (CNBU), will now oversee CMBU.

Core Data Center Business Unit (CDBU): Concentrated on memory solutions for OEM data center clients and storage solutions for all data center users. Jeremy Werner, Senior Vice President and General Manager, who has been in charge of the Storage Business Unit (SBU), will now oversee CDBU.

Mobile and Client Business Unit (MCBU): Dedicated to memory and storage solutions for mobile and client markets. Mark Montierth, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, will head MCBU after leading the Mobile Business Unit (MBU).

This reorganization completes our evolution to a market segment-focused business unit structure, with exciting AI-led growth opportunities in every business unit

Automotive and Embedded Business Unit (AEBU): Concentrated on memory and storage solutions for automotive, industrial, and consumer sectors. Kris Baxter, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, who has guided the Embedded Business Unit (EBU), will direct AEBU.

All four business divisions will keep reporting to Sumit Sadana, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer.
