Microsoft Fixes Outage Issue Affecting Airports

Although Microsoft claims that the root cause of the outage of its 365 apps and services has been resolved, some users are still being impacted by the cybersecurity downtime.

To ensure operational continuity, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has developed manual backup mechanisms in cooperation with AAI.

Handwritten boarding permits were provided by Indigo, Air India Express, SpiceJet, and Akasa in Bangalore.

Following the disruption in aircraft services, passengers complained of a terrifying experience and were observed nervously waiting for their delayed planes.

Owing of the disruption in airline services, the KIA lounge was congested.

According to BIAL, the impacted airlines include Indigo, Akasa, and SpiceJet in Terminal-1 and Air India Express in Terminal-2. The Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) and Common Use Self Service (CUSS) systems are also having problems.

The worldwide Microsoft cloud outage mostly impacted India's civil aviation industry, resulting in flight cancellations there.

Following a global computer breakdown that caused mayhem at airports and delayed passenger check-ins, Indian airlines had to resort to issuing physical boarding passes, causing technical and operational problems.

Rammohan Naidu, the Minister of Civil Aviation, reassures travelers that the Ministry and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) are actively handling the situation by hand to guarantee as little interruption as possible.

It is recommended that travelers cooperate with airport personnel during this disruptive time.

To ensure operational continuity, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has developed manual backup mechanisms in cooperation with AAI.

According to reports, the Ministry is dedicated to minimizing inconvenience and ensuring safety of every traveler.

In order to minimize disruption and discomfort to customers, the terminal operations team is closely collaborating with the airlines and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

It further stated that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is keeping a careful eye on the situation with airlines to make sure all safety and procedural precautions are taken.

Additionally, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol stated that the ministry and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) are closely observing the situation and that private airlines have been instructed to swiftly notify passengers of any problems.
