To manufacture laptops for the Indian market, Taiwanese laptop manufacturer MSI had planned to partner with Syrma SGS Technology, a business that designs and manufactures electronic systems, in India. According to the company, Syrma SGS will assemble laptops for MSI at its Chennai factory as part of this strategic partnership.

With this vision, our partnership with Syrma SGS marks a significant step forward in our ‘Make in India’ initiative, bringing our fan-favorite laptops closer to Indian consumers," says John Hung, India NB General Manager from MSI.

MSI and Syrma SGS are looking at a phased approach to localize manufacturing for MSI in India through this alliance, starting with the assembly of laptops. It will involve a technology transfer from MSI which will then be coupled with Syrma SGS' scalable manufacturing process.
