Ola Electric Launches Three Electric Motorcycles, Integration of its Battery Cells

Besides making public about the integration of its battery cells into its vehicles, Ola Electric unveiled three electric motorcycles.

The newly launched electric motorcycles are called the Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro and start with a pricing of Rs 74,999, Rs 1,04,999, and Rs 1,99,999.

The company also hinted at two more motorcycles due for launch which are Sportster and Arrowhead.

The Sankalp 2024 event, organized at Ola's Future Factory in Krishnagiri, Ola Cabs founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal revealed that the company will begin integrating its Bharat 4680 cell into its own vehicles in April 2025.

Bharat 4680 cells have lithium-ion cell packs made with a technology capability that allows them to have five times the energy (275 Wh/kg) of the 2170 form-factor cells, which are currently widely utilized in automotive applications.

The cell is said to have a larger operational temperature range (10-700C), a longer lifespan of more than 1,000 charge cycles, and improved fast-charging capabilities, with a guaranteed 50 percent charge in 13 minutes.

To improve the whole riding experience, the company brought in MoveOS 5, the new Gen-3 platform, and cells and battery packs that were developed in-house.

Speaking on MoveOS 5, Aggarwal stated that it will enable a number of new capabilities, such as Live Location Sharing, Group Navigation, and Road Trip Mode with Ola Maps.

The company also hinted at two more motorcycles due for launch which are Sportster and Arrowhead.

Performance-enhancing features like Smart Park, Smart Charging, and TPMS alerts will also be included, along with voice assistance and predictive insights provided by the Krutrim AI assistant.

By Deepawali, customers will be able to download the MoveOS 5 beta through an over-the-air update.

Ola Electric also gave hints about the Sportster and Arrowhead, two of its forthcoming models.

The company also unveiled AI shopping co-pilot, a tool that would facilitate user interaction with social media and other apps to provide a seamless, platform-wide purchasing experience.

Additionally, the business intends to build fulfillment centers and completely automated dark storefronts.
