Bangalore welcomes a new research and development center set up by SiliconAuto, an automotive technology startup funded by Foxconn.

System-on-chip development and semiconductor product design for the automobile industry are expected to be the main products to be developed within this center.

Under the joint venture between Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) and Stellantis NV, based in the Netherlands, SiliconAuto was born.

To create cutting-edge technologies and solutions, Foxconn India revealed on a social media post that the R&D center is ready to boost the company's inventive capacity.

“This new centre embodies SiliconAuto’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the automotive industry”, SiliconAuto CEO, Gene Liu said.

“Our India team is set to drive forward our vision of a smarter and safer future for transportation. Bangalore, with its rich talent pool and thriving tech ecosystem, is the perfect location for our new design centre”, Liu said.

While the company is engaged in building an electric car production facility, Foxconn also hopes to establish an electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility.

System-on-chip development and semiconductor product design for the automobile industry are expected to be the main products to be developed within this center.

According to SiliconAuto, the India design center will concentrate on the creation of next-generation semiconductor solutions for connected car technologies, autonomous driving, and electric cars (EVs).

"SiliconAuto is reaffirming its commitment to India as a vital market for talent and technology developments with this expansion.

The company intends to hire elite engineers and designers to bolster its group and add to India's quickly expanding automotive sector.
