Swiggy Rolls Out Maxxsaver on Instamart

Food delivery giant Swiggy has introduced a new savings feature named Maxxsaver on its rapid commerce platform Instamart, providing customers with automatic discounts on orders of Rs.999 or above.

The action follows a few months after competitor Zepto introduced its own variant of a premium savings product named Super Saver. In contrast to Zepto’s opt-in feature, Maxxsaver is integrated directly into the Swiggy app and is automatically activated at checkout once the cart value minimum is reached.

In the face of growing competition and swift development within the quick commerce sector, platforms are placing greater emphasis on increasing basket sizes instead of merely pursuing frequent, low-value transactions.

Platforms such as Flipkart Minutes are heavily discounting to gain market share, while others are encouraging bulk buying, transforming their roles from merely top-up solutions to comprehensive grocery and essentials platforms. This is essential since almost 80 percent of transactions on these platforms are still fueled by everyday products and groceries.

Among the leading three competitors in the market, Blinkit is currently the only one that does not provide substantial discounts or a loyalty initiative like Zepto Pass or Swiggy One. It still applies delivery fees to each order, although these differ based on location and distance.

Blinkit, on the other hand, is concentrating on expanding its range and has recently started providing fast delivery of air conditioners in key metropolitan areas.

With Maxxsaver, we enhance our promise to make Swiggy Instamart the most affordable and convenient quick-commerce destination

Swiggy, on the other hand, is focusing on expanding its geographic reach and constructing more extensive fulfillment centers known as megapods, which greatly enhance product diversity. Traditional dark stores typically contain about 20,000 SKUs, whereas Swiggy’s megapods can store as many as 50,000 SKUs.

Instamart has recently made history as the first quick commerce platform to extend its services to 100 cities, and the new Maxxsaver feature will be accessible in each of them.
