
Visa Offers $100 Million to Replace Mastercard

According to reports, Visa has offered Apple roughly $100 million to take over the tech giant's credit card partnership from Mastercard.
According to WSJ, Visa has made a significant effort to obtain the Apple Card, proposing an initial payment usually allocated for the biggest card programs.
American Express is also attempting to surpass Mastercard to secure the Apple card. According to the report citing sources, Amex aims to be both the card issuer and the network.
Goldman Sachs and Apple, which began their credit card collaboration in 2019 using Mastercard as the payment processor, have terminated the partnership, as reported in November 2023.
Multiple financial companies are competing to take Goldman’s place as the credit card partner.
In January, Reuters announced that Apple was engaged in discussions with Barclays and Synchrony Financial to establish a partnership for its credit card.
