Wipro Passes the Managing Director's Role to Sarat Chand for Northern Europe
Wipro has welcomed Sarat Chand as regional head and managing director of its Northern Europe region.
Chand is expected to report to the IT firm’s Europe CEO Pierre Bruno, according to reports.
Chand’s appointment comes in light of the management’s reorganization, followed by the appointment of the new CEO, CEO Srinivas Pallia.
The company informed its workforce through a mail about Chand’s appointment and that he will be overseeing the northern European firm, Wipro Benelux as its MD.
“Sarat's client-centricity, focus on execution excellence and ability to build high-performing teams will be instrumental in expanding our presence in the Northern Europe region”, says Bruno.
Bruno further went on to add, “Sarat will build on the foundation set by Vinay (Firake) in the Nordics and lead our combined Northern Europe region to new heights”.
Till date, Chand’s efforts of making the company’s Netherlands division into one of the top IT services providers under his leadership has been well acknowledged by analyst companies.
Currently, Chand is given the responsibility to significantly uplift Wipro’s position in the industry in his capacity as the leader of the Benelux area.
Till date, Chand’s efforts of making the company’s Netherlands division into one of the top IT services providers under his leadership has been well acknowledged by analyst companies.
The Benelux and Nordics region, which comprises seven strategically important growth markets—Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden—will be led by Chand in his new position at Wipro.
Firake, who was recently appointed CEO of the APMEA strategic market unit, formerly oversaw the Nordics area.
Wipro chose to merge its operations in the Nordic and Benelux regions to create a single Northern Europe area following Firake's appointment to the new position.
