Yotta Data Services, a data center operated by the Hiranandani Group announces that it has received the first batch of 4,000 graphics processing units from Nvidia. By the end of 2025, Yotta Data Services intends to expand up its GPU stable to 32,768 units.

This first cluster of more than 4,000 GPUs, which was accepted by Yotta Data Services' co-founder, MD, and CEO Sunil Gupta on March 14th, highlights the business' dedication to advancing AI innovation. The growing use of GPU-based servers for accelerated computing underscores how much faster they can handle data than more conventional CPU-based servers. This technological progress is critical since there is a noticeable global GPU shortage as a result of the escalating rivalry for AI development.

As GPU-based servers can process data faster than CPU-based servers, there is a rising demand for accelerated computing, or GPU-based servers.

There is a GPU shortage as a result of multinational corporations competing to create AI.

Based on industry research, Nvidia holds an approximate 88 percent market share and is currently leading the GPU market. But getting GPUs from the company is difficult because of a 12- to 18-month wait time caused by increased demand worldwide.

Gupta says that Yotta's program will enable Indian companies, government agencies, startups, and researchers to accelerate innovation and efficiency, thereby elevating India's profile in the world of artificial intelligence.

According to industry estimates, NVIDIA dominates the GPU market with about 88 percent share and there is a lag of 12-18 months in getting GPUs from the company due to its high demand across the globe.

Yotta will help Indian businesses, governments, startups, and researchers accelerate innovation, drive growth and efficiency, and help achieve excellence as we scale greater heights in the AI revolution

Moreover, the nation's commitment to promoting AI development is demonstrated by the Indian Cabinet's approval of the India AI Mission and its grant of Rs 10,372 crore over five years. The objective of this mission is to increase supercomputing capability in India by providing over 10,000 GPUs to different stakeholders, which will in turn foster a strong AI ecosystem.

“Yotta will help Indian businesses, governments, startups, and researchers accelerate innovation, drive growth and efficiency, and help achieve excellence as we scale greater heights in the AI revolution," Gupta adds.

The deliberate placement of NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs at Yotta Data Services' NM1 data center not only improves India's infrastructure for AI development but also establishes the nation as a major player in the worldwide competition for artificial intelligence technological dominance.
