Zypp Electric to Deploy One Lakh Electric Two-Wheeler in 12 to 18 Months

In collaboration with Indofast Energy, a 50/50 joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility, electric mobility player Zypp Electric announced that it intends to deploy one lakh electric two-wheelers over the course of the next 12 to 18 months.
More than 10,000 EVs have already been deployed by Zypp Electric, using battery switching technology from Indofast Energy.
To improve efficiency for delivery partners and businesses, the company said that its new fleet of one lakh electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) will be placed throughout India's top eight cities, which include Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, and Jaipur.
It further stated that riders will benefit from nearly minimal downtime and infinite range thanks to Indofast Energy's battery swapping network.
With a vast network of switch stations spaced 1.5 km apart in Bangalore and Delhi NCR, Indofast Energy guarantees easy and convenient battery access, it continued.
"The deployment of 100,000 battery-swappable EVs is a resounding testament to our unwavering commitment to electrify India's logistics landscape," said Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President at Indofast Energy.

Government programs encouraging cleaner transportation and growing fuel prices have propelled India's electric mobility industry's recent notable expansion. Key obstacles to EV adoption are addressed by battery swapping technology, such as high initial battery costs, maintenance issues, and charging time.
Zypp Electric is a tech-enabled EV-as-a-service platform that was founded in 2017 with an emphasis on environmentally friendly last-mile logistics. Over 22,000 electric vehicles are presently in the company's fleet, and within the following 36 to 48 months, that number is expected to rise to 500,000.
