Firms in the IT and ITES sectors deliver tailored solutions that bridge complex challenges in public systems, healthcare, and supply chain management. OASYS Cyber- netics, headquartered in Chennai, is a dynamic company with over two decades of experience, offering pan-India services. Established in 2000 as Omni Agate Systems, the company initially specialized in manufacturing electronic energy meters, serving states from Kerala to Himachal Pradesh. It has transi-tioned into a robust software solutions provider and is now recognized as a prestigious CMMI Level 5 company.
In an exclusive interview with CIO Insiders magazine, K.R. Ilanghovan, Managing Director at Oasys Cybernetics discusses the organization’s offerings, his future roadmap for the organization, and much more.
What are Oasys Cybernetics' flagship offerings?
We are IT and ITES specialists, providing cutting edge solutions for supply chain management, ERP, health management information systems (HMIS), and public distribution systems (PDS). We have a strong reputation for putting important government initiatives into action and using cutting-edge technology to simplify complicated processes over the past decade.
We provide ration shops throughout multiple states with Android-based point-of-sale devices to facilitate the efficient distribution of necessities such as rice, wheat, and sugar. We are working on this project in a number of states, including Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.
Our HMIS offering has helped to change healthcare delivery by using cutting-edge technology to enhance hospital admini-stration and patient care. We created and put into use this system for
the Pune Smart City project in Maharashtra as well as for all government hospitals in Tamil Nadu.
We offer comprehensive ERP solutions, like those for Tamil Nadu Co-optex, which help businesses run more effectively. In addition to this, the Uttar Pradesh excise department's supply chain management and track-and-trace system uses QR code labeling for accurate tracking to keep an eye on the distribution, manufacturing, and allocation of molasses.
We provide seamless, comprehensive solutions with a robust in-house research and development (R&D)team, well equipped labs, & experience in both software & hardware development
How does Oasys Cybernetics approach sustainability in its operations and solutions?
Our strategy focuses on using technology to develop scalable, impactful, and easily navigable systems that benefit communities, especially those in underserved and rural areas.
We have implemented Android-based point-of sale devices in ration shops, for instance, which not only expedite the distribution of commodities but also provide value-added services. Customers can use these services to pay their electricity bills, send and receive money, and use our wallet system to access government-to-citizen (G2C) services. We lessen the need for extra infrastructure and encourage the effective use of available resources by combining several features into one gadget.
We are launching doorstep delivery of G2C services to close the digital divide, particularly in rural areas. With just a missed call, citizens can request services such as birth certificates or other government documents. After that, our agents provide these services right to their doorstep, cutting down on travel and the carbon emissions that go along with it.
What technology framework underpins Oasys Cybernetics' solutions, and which emerging technologies are the company planning to adopt?
We use open-source technologies that comply with government standards and norms, mainly .NET frameworks and reliable database systems.
We are actively incorporating cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) to further improve our services.
Blockchain, for example, is being used in our Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) to transform electronic health records (EHRs). This innovation does away with the need for physical documentation by giving patients access to safe, unchangeable records that can be accessed with a unique ID. Patients can easily exchange their medical records across the country to guarantee continuity of care.
AI and ML are also being used to enhance decision-making, provide individualized healthcare services, and analyze healthcare data.
What role does the workforce play in driving the success of Oasys Cybernetics?
We have established a strong organizational structure under my leadership as the Managing Director, including a core group of directors. Our teams work across multiple divisions to ensure that our services are delivered smoothly from field operations and project execution to maintenance and quality control. Our highly qualified professionals maintain the highest standards supported by CMMI Level 5 certification, ISO 9001, and 27001 certifications.
What vision do you have for the future, and what level of market impact do you aim to achieve?
Our goal is to increase our worldwide presence while securing our place as a top system integrator. We are actively tackling issues like turnover criteria in state government tenders by establishing consortium partnerships with organizations like MSTC, ITI, and BEL.
We want to grow internationally by entering the health management information system (HMIS) market. We are also actively looking into opportunities in this area after receiving inquiries about developing citizen identification systems similar to India's Aadhaar.
