In India, the electric vehicle (EV) sector is witnessing an impressive surge, with numerous startups emerging to revolutionize transportation through innovative technologies. These startups are not only focusing on the development of EVs and their components but are also addressing the critical challenges associated with adopting electric mobility. One significant concern has been the environmental impact of increased power consumption, primarily driven by the reliance on thermal power for electricity generation. As EVs become more prevalent, the demand for power rises, potentially exacerbating environmental damage if it continues to come from non-renewable sources. Additionally, the uncertainty surrounding the availability of reliable power for battery charging has posed a barrier to wider EV adoption.
Amidst these challenges, Setrans Mobility has emerged as a pioneering force in the EV market. The company recognized the dual challenge of mitigating environmental impact while addressing the convenience concerns of EV owners. Setrans Mobility introduced an innovative solution: doorstep EV charging powered by alternative green energy. This approach eliminates the dependence on traditional thermal power and provides a seamless and time efficient service for EV owners.
The journey to develop this groundbreaking technology was no easy feat. Setrans Mobility dedicated two years to perfecting their technology, integrating hardware and software to create a smart, intelligent, and hassle-free charging experience. The result is SETRANS, which stands for Smart Energy Transfer.
This solution represents a crucial advancement in the EV sector, offering a grid independent, environmentally friendly alternative energy-based charging service. With SETRANS, EV owners no longer need to wait in queues or worry about the reliability of power availability, making it a significant leap forward in both convenience and sustainability.

CIO Insider engaged in a one on one interaction with Setrans Mobility team, let’s hear more from them.
Can you provide an overview of your flagship offerings & the benefits clients can expect?
Our flagship offering is a versatile multiport charging station that functions both as a Fixed Stationary Charging Station and a Mobile Charging Station, providing the flexibility to serve users at their doorstep upon request.
The technology is designed to offer substantial advantages to EV users, allowing them to relax and avoid stress. A rapid 10-minute charge can extend the EV’s range by 25 to 100 kilometers. This quick top-up capability significantly enhances EV adaptability and convenience for users.
Can you share a recent challenging case study that highlights the success of your company's services in achieving positive outcomes?
In Delhi-NCR, EV drivers were struggling with chargers tripping and melting because of the intense heat. Our SMPL MCS provided a reliable solution, delivering consistent charging without any issues. In one instance, while Cargo EVs were being charged at the roadside, the MCS operator went the extra mile by
inviting the EV drivers to relax in the air - conditioned cabin of the MCS. This not only highlighted the reliability of our service but also demonstrated our commitment to ensuring a comfortable experience for our users, even in challenging conditions.
Briefly tell us about the workforce of the company responsible for its success.
Our company's success is largely attributed to our dedicated workforce. The MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) team is crucial, comprising mechanical, electrical, and software engineers who ensure our systems are maintained and operational on time. Their expertise is the backbone of our reliable service.
Additionally, our BD (Business Development) team has been instrumental in identifying and pursuing numerous opportunities for deploying our SMPL MCS units. Among these is a nationally renowned OEM, though we are keeping their identity confidential for now. Their efforts in securing these valuable connections have significantly contributed to our growth and success.
What role does Setrans Mobility aim to play in the near future, and what level of impact does it seek to achieve in the market?
Setrans Mobility envisions a significant role in shaping the future of EV charging. Our ‘Top-Up on The Go’ Mini MCS provides flexibility, allowing users to choose between scheduled charging or swapping out batteries based on their needs and driving endurance. The combination of Multiport and Dualport MCS units is designed to boost fleet operators' revenue by extending their range by 25 percent in just 10 minutes.
We aim to make a substantial impact on the market by ensuring that EV fleets receive a crucial 30 percent charge in 30 minutes, regardless of power availability.
