Sure Solutions : Revolutionizing Retail Operations with Innovative Technology and Data-Driven Solutions
Vinod Sharma
Managing Director
The retail technology industry is advancing rapidly, driven by a need for increased efficiency, real-time data, and enhanced customer experiences. Solutions such as people counting systems, anti-theft technologies, digital displays, and RFID tracking are pivotal in optimizing operations and reducing losses.
Sure Solutions stands out in this land scape, inheriting the solution-driven DNA of Deki Electronics, a leader in electronic components Since-1984. With a focus on business efficiency, Sure Solutions offers tailored innovations like SureCount, which provides real-time analytics for peak performance monitoring, and SureCheck, which deters theft while enabling promotional displays. SureDisplay reduces waste with seamless updates, and SureTrack simplifies logistics, inventory visibility through RFID and BLE technologies.
In an exclusive interview with CIO Insider magazine, Vinod Sharma, Managing Director, Deki Electronics Limited (SureSolutions) discusses the organization’s offerings, his future roadmap for the organization, and much more.
How does Sure Solutions leverage Deki Electronics' legacy and resources to enhance customer value?
We use the four decades of experience of Deki Electronics, the biggest producer of film capacitors in India, to provide our clients with better value by developing innovative, high-quality solutions. We provide a wide range of intelligent electronic solutions suited to sectors including retail, automotive, and industrial IoT.
Our solutions range from SureCheck anti-theft electronic article surveillance systems, which ensure asset protection, to SureCount for advanced footfall analytics that give retailers deep
insights into customer behavior and sales conversion. Our Sure Display electronic shelf labels enable dynamic price and product information updates, boosting efficiency and customer engagement. We also offer smart warehousing solutions like pick-to light displays that enhance picking accuracy and streamline operations by using electronic shelf labels and RFID for a seamless experience.
We believe that every challenge is an opportunity to innovate and enhance business efficiency through technology
What distinguishes your smart business solutions from other competitors in the market?
Our profound understanding of electronics and our capacity to implement them successfully throughout the intricate and varied Indian market are what distinguish our smart business solutions. Particularly in towns and distant locations such as Kolhapur, Vishakhapatnam, or Miraj, India's diverse terrain poses particular difficulties, such as erratic energy, unstable Wi-Fi, and differing user familiarity with technology, and use of this technology and remote connectivity enables our team to provide faster turnaround time for any service related support. Innovating dependable products that work flawlessly throughout these areas is one of our biggest accomplish-ments.
Could you elaborate on the technology framework you have within the organization?
Our technology framework is based on applied engineering, which uses current technologies and modifies them to address practical business problems. Instead of doing simple research, we use technology to effectively meet the needs of our clients.
For example, we use sensors such as thermal, time of light and infrared sensors in conjunction with server analytics and Wi-Fi data transmission when gathering walk-in or footfall data. When a traditional infrared sensor encounters problems, like being blocked intentionally, accidently or while experiencing poor Wi-Fi, we switch to thermal sensors, which are less
susceptible to interference and have server health checks to identify problems.
We gather extensive environmental data and combine it with analytics to help clients make well informed decisions about everything from conversion, staffing changes to marketing plans.
Could you tell us about a recent challenging case study reflecting the success of the company's solutions that were deployed to drop off your alarms?
We recently took on a challenging case for a large retail chain that had trouble with their anti-theft systems' high false alarm rates. We updated their antitheft system with smarter, AI-integrated methods to address this.
First, we swapped out the conventional pedestals for smart sensors that could distinguish between real theft attempts and fake triggers. Our server was linked to these sensors, allowing for automatic health checks and real-time data transfer. For instance, our system might detect and report an item that unintentionally set off the alarm, informing the store manager. In addition to lowering false alarms, this also led to rapid response when actual theft attempts were discovered.
We provided regional and store managers with a reporting dashboard to offer thorough insights. The number of actual thefts, false alarms, and maintenance alerts were among the statistics provided by the daily and weekly alarm activity reports. A store with a high footfall rate experienced a 75 percent decrease in false alarms in just three months.
What opportunities do you foresee for Sure Solutions, and what areas will it focus on for future growth?
We have tested our capacity to deliver customized, value-driven technology in India's distinct and demanding market, where many multinationals have found it difficult to compete. Our cost-effective RFID integrations, in particular, have the potential to establish a new benchmark for retail operations globally, and this achievement gives us the confidence to think about exporting our solutions.
With an emphasis on improving our suite of cutting-edge retail technology, including smart sensors, RFID solutions, and automated systems for customer insights, our short-term goal is to triple our growth over the next three years.
